iSchool to co-sponsor CollaborateCom 2012

The iSchool is pleased to be a co-sponsor of CollaborateCom 2012, the Eighth International Conference on Collaborative Computing, which serves as the premier international forum for academic and industrial researchers, practitioners, and students interested in collaborative networking, technology and systems, and applications. CollaborateCom will take place from October 14-17, 2012, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. iSchool Associate Professor James Joshi serves as General Chair of the Conference, as well as a member of the Steering Committee. In addition, Assistant Professor Konstantinos Pelechrinis and PhD student Amirreza Masoumzadeh are also members of the conference’s Organizing Committee.

Collaborative Computing has assumed importance over the last two decades, as organizations and individuals have realized the potential for greater productivity and innovation when problems are worked on by teams comprised of humans, computer applications and/or robots. Technology to support such collaboration has continue to expand from standalone tools to open systems and collaborative grids. However, the work on tools and techniques to support such work is not completed – much more is to be done to advance networking, technology and systems, user interfaces and interaction paradigms to make more efficient use of collaborative computing and research.

The iSchool is proud to be a sponsor of this event and to help further the development of systems and technologies to support collaborative computing and innovation. For more information about CollaborateCom 2012, please visit this site.
