SIS LogoThe School of Information Sciences is seeking candidates for one tenure-stream faculty position in the Library and Information Science Program, to start no later than Fall Term 2007.

The School seeks candidates willing to assume leadership of the resources and services for children and youth program curriculum and to develop research that reflect the needs of children and youth in an information-intensive and increasingly-digital society.  The position offers opportunities to collaborate with multi-disciplinary faculty across such areas as Information Visualization, Sociology of Knowledge, Digital Libraries, and Multimedia Archives, and Digital Citizenship.  Experience with distance education is an asset.  The successful candidate is an effective, proactive educator pursuing a visionary research agenda and will play a key role in charting the School’s future course as a leading i-School.
 
SIS especially invites applicants who have an innovative approach to these core areas:

  • Resources and services for children and youth, including literature and information technology
  • Information-seeking behavior of children and youth

The position requires an earned doctorate and is an appointment at the assistant professor/associate professor level or at a rank commensurate with qualifications.
