photo of IS libraryLibraries across America are celebrating the freedom to read during National Library Week with a weeklong series of activities from April 10-16, 2005. As part of the celebration, the Marketing and Public Relations for Libraries class is hosting a Read Out in the Information Sciences Library on April 11, 2005, from 11 am - 1 pm, and 4 - 6 pm.

Everyone has a beloved story, or poem, or passage, and we are inviting you to share your favorite! We are hoping to have representations from many cultures and many languages. Students and professors will be reading throughout the Read Out in fifteen-minute increments. (Although your selection isn't required to fill the entire fifteen-minute period!) Over the four-hour period we expect about 200 people to attend. Food and beverages will be provided. We expect it to be a fun, informal event in celebration of the freedom and enjoyment of reading.

If you would like to participate, please contact Kara Robertson by replying to this e-mail (klr18@pitt.edu) with the time you would prefer to speak and your reading selection.
