Sandra Brandon currently holds the position of Director of Administration/Chief of Staff for the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences – future School of Computing and Information. Sandra is responsible for managing the operations, staff, technology, and external relations for the school.

Dr. Brandon previously served as Crayola’s Vice President and Chief Information Officer, as well as a member of the Executive Operating Committee from 2002-2010. Sandra led the company’s global information technology reorganization, transforming a traditional IS department into the Crayola Information Solutions Team. This rebranding to focus on business partnerships changed both the dynamics of the team as well as the mindset of the corporate culture at this world-renown company. Customer and business partner services and solutions became the central emphasis to drive business strategy and bottom line results.

In 2009, Sandra completed the Six Sigma training at Villanova University.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Leadership from Duquesne University, and her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at Kent State University. Sandra most recently completed her doctoral degree in Administrative and Policy Study at the School of Education, University of Pittsburgh in January 2016.

Sandra’s leadership skills are also reflected in her personal life, where she is a member of SIM (Society of Information Management), SIM Women, Women in Defense, Women in the Boardroom, Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group, Board President Carnegie Library of Homestead, and a former mentor in the Columbia University’s Executive MS Program.

Dr. Brandon is an active industry speaker and advisor, an adjunct professor for the Katz Graduate School of Business, School of Education and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, and is a licensed private pilot. In addition, Colonel Sandra Brandon has just recently completed a distinguished tour of duty for the non-profit community in the Commonwealth as the Pennsylvania Wing Commander for Civil Air Patrol, the Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force (CAP/USAF), overseeing the strategic, operational, tactical and financial operations for this 2,300 member-strong non-profit organization. She continues to serve her nation through Civil Air Patrol USAF Aux as a member of the National Executive IT Steering Committee, Maxwell AFB, Montgomery AL.
