SAS Hosted LIS Professional Development Day, April 5, 2008
More than 30 students from both the on-campus and FastTrack programs participated in 2008's LIS Professional Development Day.
This event was hosted by the School of Information Sciences Alumni Association, which is open to all graduates of the School. The Alumni Society recognizes that current students are alumni of the future … and encourages all current students at SIS to become involved. LIS alumni and Career Services experts addressed the key points in creating resumes, performing well in both face-to-face and telephone interviews, and job-hunting resources available at the University of Pittsburgh. Learn what to include in a resume and on a job application. Get tips on how to best present your work and educational experiences in both your resume and an interview.
Alumni conducted mock interviews and mock telephone interviews, which included a 20-minute interview and 10 minutes of feedback.
Alumni also offered resume review sessions with advice from professionals in field about how to improve resumes.
