ALA Student-to-Staff Program Application

Each year 40 library students nationwide are chosen to assist ALA staff during the ALA Annual Conference. In exchange for working four hours a day (or a total of 16 hours), ALA provides free conference registration, housing, and a per diem for meal expenses. During free time, students may attend programs and participate in other conference activities. Details regarding the program may be found on ALA's website.

Applications will be reviewed by the iSchool's Student Chapter of the American Library Association (SCALA) Faculty Advisor. A final nominee will be chosen based on academic merit, leadership and/or active participation in SCALA, and a statement explaining your interest in and purpose for participating in the ALA Student-to-Staff Program.

Only one student will be chosen. This student will receive additional funding from the iSchool to cover the cost of airfare (up to $400). Students must apply by November 15th.
