Best wishes to Dr. Sue Alman on her retirement

Join the iSchool faculty, staff and students in offering “Best Wishes” to Dr. Sue Alman, who will be retiring as of June 30, 2012. Sue has many ties to the iSchool, having earned her Master’s and PhD in Library and Information Science here. She joined the iSchool staff in 1987; in 2003, she assumed the position of Director of Distance Education Services and Outreach. As such, Sue was key to the founding of the FastTrack MLIS program (now MLIS: Pitt Online), one of the earliest and most recognized online MLIS programs. Sue was responsible for the planning, development and implementation of this cohort-based program for online delivery of the MLIS curriculum. In addition to her distance education duties, Sue advised MLIS students and taught courses on management, marketing and public relations for libraries, and understanding information. The iSchool faculty and staff thank Sue for her many contributions to the iSchool, the MLIS program, and to online education.
