News / iSchool sponsors Fall Festival of Children’s Books

The iSchool is pleased to sponsor the Fall Festival of Children’s Books, October 17-18, at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. This event includes artist talks, workshops and book signings by the featured guests, a book sale, and a panel discussion. Featured guests are Pat Cummings, T.A. Barron, and Leonard S. Marcus. Local literary stars will also be showcased, including Sally Alexander, John Manders, Rebecca O’Connell, and Karen Lynn Williams. iSchool students are encouraged to attend – registration is free in light of the School’s sponsorship of the Festival. iSchool students should register by phone or mail by October 14.  Visit http://www.pittsburghkids.org/Templates/CMP_Level3_List.aspx?CID=941&SECID=2&MENUID=365#fallfest for more information.

• Author Sally Alexander, (Taking Hold: My Journey into Blindness, She Touched the World): Storytime at 11:30 am, Booksigning at Noon-1:00 pm
• Illustrator and Author John Manders (Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies, Humphrey, Albert, and the Flying Machine):Storytime at 12:30 pm, Booksigning at 1:00-2:00 pm
• Author Rebecca O’Connell (The Baby Goes Beep, Penina Levine Is A Hard-Boiled Egg): Storytime at 1:30 pm, Booksigning at 2:00-3:00 pm
• Author Karen Lynn Williams

We are the main sponsor. Registration is free for SIS students.  They can register by calling 412-322-5058 (ext 240) or by mailing the registration form to the Children's Museum by October 14. When registering they should indicate that they are students at SIS. They should be prepared to show their student card at the door. Lunch is not included with the free registration.
