7, 8, 9, will mark the annual “i-fest” celebrations
here at the School of Information Sciences. Each
day, the School will host a series of events that highlight
the contributions of faculty and students to the discipline. There’s
also a number of events that just fun! Mark your

Poster Competition
Show off your research! Completed work as well
as speculative and late-breaking results in all research
areas — Information Science, Library & Information
Science, and Telecommunications — are welcome.
You create the poster and SIS prints it! Judges
from the SIS faculty will determine which posters win. The
1st Place winner takes home an iPod Touch!
The Fantastic, Amazing, Great Race
Based on the challenges and thrills on America’s
most-watched reality tv show, SIS has created "The
Fantastic Amazing Great Race." Your team, comprised
of two intrepid explorers, will take off from the IS
Building and head off to adventures throughout the City
of Pittsburgh. The winning team will receive Nintendo
Wiis - one for each!

Book Introduction and Signing
In honor of Anthony Debons’ illustrious career,
leading scholars in the field of Information Science
have contributed to a FestSchrift. This publication
will be introduced and Dr. Debons will attend. Please
join SIS faculty, students and staff as they recognize
the many important contributions that Dr. Debons has
made to our field.
