Weiss serves on "Transatlantic Business Series"

 
     
 

 

 
 

Dr. WeissMartin Weiss, Associate Dean at SIS, will be a panelist on a “Transatlantic Business Series” concerning globalization of the telecommunications industry, particularly with Global Internet-Based Services. This session will be held on Thursday, September 27, at 4 pm in 104 Mervis Hall on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.  Weiss will discuss “Globalization and the Telecom Industry.” Joining him will be Richard Cawley of the European Commission’s DG Information Society & Media, who will discuss “Internet-Based Services: Infrastructure and Opportunities in the EU;” and William Lehr of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who will discuss “Barriers and Opportunities for Internet-Based Services in the US.” 

Weiss is an Associate Professor at the School of Information Sciences, teaching and researching in the Telecommunications discipline. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research for the School of Information Sciences.
