Faculty Promotions

 
     
 

The School of Information Sciences would like to congratulate Stuart Shulman and Vladimir Zadorozhny on their promotions to the rank of Associate Professor.  “It is truly an honor for the School to have two such well-regarded teachers and researchers on our faculty,” notes Dean Ronald L. Larsen.  “Both scholars deserve the honor and recognition that these promotions confer upon them.”

Stuart ShulmanShulman, who teaches in the Library & Information Science program, holds a Joint Appointment in the School of Information Sciences and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.  He is also a Senior Research Associate and the Director of the Qualitative Data Analysis Program (QDAP) in the University Center for Social and Urban Research.  In 2007, Shulman was appointed the Director of the Sara Fine Institute.

Vladimir ZadorozhnyZadorozhny, who teaches in the undergraduate and graduate Information Science programs, joined the SIS faculty in 2001 after teaching at the University of Maryland and Moscow State University.  He is the lead researcher in the Network Aware Data Management Group and a member of the Advanced Data Management Technologies Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh.  His research interests cover networked information systems, wireless and sensor data management, and scalable architectures. 

The faculty, staff, students and administration of the School of Information Sciences congratulate both Dr. Shulman and Dr. Zadorozhny.
