SIS has joined a consortium of information schools (i-Schools) to build brand identity and foster collaborative efforts among “i-Schools” across the country.  Join SIS at the inaugural conference for “i-Schools,” bringing together faculty, students, and administrators to address the challenges of information-related research and education. The first “i-Conference” will be held September 28-30, 2005, at the Pennsylvania State University.  The conference is intended as both a celebration of our field and an opportunity to share our best practices of research, education, and i-School life. 

Conference Topics/Activities include (but are not limited to):

• Defining the issues confronting us in terms of education and research
• Addressing the grand information challenges facing society and I-Schools
• The I-School Identity – Who Are We, What Makes Us Unique?
• Next steps in information research and education.
