Advances in geopositioning, mobile computing and wireless
technologies have spurred the emergence of Location-Based

in real time. There are numerous applications where crucial
decisions can be made by having knowledge about the whereabouts
of mobile objects. Join the Oracle User Group as Hassan
A. Karimi from the Department of Information Science
and Telecommunications at the University of Pittsburgh
provides an overview of the architectures, technologies
and databases for LBS along with sample applications
and services.
