Visiting Scholar Program

The Visiting Scholar Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences (SIS) offers academic scholars from around the world the opportunity to visit the University of Pittsburgh, conduct research, and make a valuable contribution to SIS.

Visiting Scholars are selected by a committee who evaluate the candidate’s background, research proposal, dates of proposed residence, as well as the capacity of the faculty and library to meet the candidate’s research needs.

Scholars interested in participating in SIS’ Visiting Scholar Program should review the program requirements before submitting an application. It is essential that candidates identify a SIS faculty member to be their sponsor/host during their visit. The faculty sponsor/host will provide guidance during a Visiting Scholar’s residence at SIS.
