Drupal Camp PA comes to the iSchool

The University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information Sciences (iSchool) hosted Drupal Camp PA on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3. Drupal is a powerful open source content management system used by nonprofits and large corporations alike. The theme of this camp was “Bridging Higher Education and Industry” and featured sessions tailored to novice and expert users alike.

Topics ranged from an introduction to Drupal 8 to Drupal security made simple to using Drupal to manage research metadata. On Saturday, keynote speaker Zachary Rosen, Pantheon CEO and Co-Founder, asked conference attendees “How do you build a solution so important it can’t be ignored?” The Drupal 8 panel, including Chris Luckhardt, Matthew Radcliffe, Jim Taylor and Devin Zuczek, offered their perspectives on the future of Drupal 8.

The iSchool has trained leaders in the information professions for more than 100 years and is committed to providing our students with opportunities to work with the next innovative technologies. As one of the most widely used content management systems worldwide, a working knowledge of Drupal is essential for students from each of our programs, whether they are developers, content creators or both.
