School of Information Sciences

Internships/Field Experiences

Students in the School of Information Sciences are encouraged to gain invaluable experience through a research project at the school, an internship with regional industry, a field experience in a regional library, or a self-designed project.

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in an internship with one of the many leading businesses and library organizations here in the Pittsburgh region. Pittsburgh is home to many international corporations from a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, financial services, education, manufacturing, technology, and nonprofit. The City of Pittsburgh is home to more than 100 libraries and archives.
