Alumni Society
All SIS alumni are welcome and encouraged to join SAS and participate in planning fun, social events and useful projects to help make SIS a more successful school. For more information, please contact Joelleen P. Yerace, Director of Constituent Relations at 412-624-9473 or jyerace@pitt.edu.
Who can join SAS?
SAS welcomes those who hold a degree or certificate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences to join. There is no membership fee. As alumni in residence, SAS also encourages current student involvement. Current students are considered associate members.
How can I become involved?
SAS meets to discuss upcoming events and ways to engage current students and alumni. Please complete the alumni update form to indicate your volunteer preferences.
If you are currently living in the Pittsburgh area (and there are thousands of you!), please consider attending an upcoming meeting. If you live outside of Pittsburgh, but are interested in joining, please know that you will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities via phone and email:
- Resume Review
- Mock Phone Interviews
- Recruitment
- Alumni Outreach
- Networking
Is SAS associated with the Pitt Alumni Association?
Yes, SAS is part of the PAA. Ultimately, SAS members encourage each other to become PAA members, although PAA membership is not required to participate in SAS. Currently, all SAS officers are life members of the PAA. SAS also participates in many of the PAA’s events such as Homecoming, Pathways to Professions, etc.
